Yes, there is currently a limitation of 500 photos in one gallery.

Are there any limits to the size of images?

An image can be as many pixels as you want, but it cannot be larger than 1 MB.

Are there any limits on the downloads?

Yes, a download cannot be larger than 512 MB.
